About Liz
If you’re looking for a stuffed-shirt, grumpy driving instructor, you’ve come to the wrong place.

Liz Mclellan
Liz is a humorous, brave, and refreshingly straight-talking driving instructor who specialises in supporting people with learning difficulties and disabilities.
As the independent owner and operator of Driving101 on the Kapiti Coast in the Wellington region, Liz services the lower North Island with modified vehicles designed specifically for the disability sector.
Her passion lies in empowering individuals who may have been told driving isn’t for them. Through advanced driver training and tailored vehicle modifications, Liz takes immense pride in helping her students become confident, capable drivers — often exceeding their own expectations. Her commitment to the disability community extends nationwide, where she provides ongoing guidance, advocacy, and industry support.
Liz is a dedicated committee member of NZIDE and an observer for the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM). She is also honored to serve on the DCN Network Steering Group, contributing knowledge, collaboration, and meaningful support to both the industry and her peers.
